Weather of the World

I thought I’d just compare our weather to some other balmy spots in the world. Some nasty Chicagoans have said that this is pretty normal… Thanks to the weather man, however, we know that this is colder than it has been in over a decade.

Iceland? Come on…

I want you to pay close attention to the sunrise and sunset times on this one. I’ve never heard of it but I think it may be located in Valhalla…

This is a U.S. Research center — I know, I know… it’s the southern hemisphere, making it summer right now. I don’t care, it’s ANTARCTICA. And just so you don’t think that all of Antarctica is a sunny paradise in the summer:

  1. Svalbard is an island. But where, you ask? using Google Maps, slide on over to the giant Sweden/Norway/Finland penninsula. Then, head north. You can’t be too zoomed out, or the island won’t have “Svalbard” on it, but it’s there. And it’s NORTH. And it is cold.

  2. Well, if the Svalbards like the cold so much they should come on down to Chicago where it happens to be colder. As a bonus, we get sunlight.

  3. Wisconsin is cold. I turned on the Weather Channel and the Weatherman looked at me and said, “Seriously… You don’t wanna know.” Where’s Brasil when you need it?

On another thought, I just wanted to let you know that this might be the only time until Haley’s comet’s next appearance that I will be excited about a Nole win…
